The Journal of Mathematical Theory and Computation (JMTC) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent original work conducted and written by the author(s). Any form of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data falsification, misappropriation of ideas, or unethical reuse of previously published material is considered a serious violation of publication ethics and will not be tolerated.
All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism and similarity screening prior to peer review and may also be reassessed during the editorial and production process. The journal reserves the right to reject, return, suspend, or retract manuscripts found to contain significant similarity to previously published works, whether published by the authors themselves or by others.
The following practices are considered unacceptable:
- Direct plagiarism or unattributed copying of text, mathematical arguments, proofs, figures, tables, or ideas.
- Self-plagiarism or excessive reuse of previously published content without proper citation or disclosure.
- Duplicate or simultaneous submission to multiple journals or publication venues.
- Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of mathematical results, computations, datasets, or analytical findings.
- Improper paraphrasing intended to disguise copied material.
- Use of generated or automated content in a manner that compromises originality, accuracy, authorship accountability, or scientific integrity.
Authors are expected to ensure that:
- All sources and references are appropriately cited.
- Previously published or reused material is clearly identified and properly acknowledged.
- Quotations, adapted figures, algorithms, or reproduced materials are used only with appropriate attribution and permissions where required.
- The submitted manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere and has not been previously published in substantially similar form.
Where overlap with previously published work is scientifically justified, authors must clearly disclose this at the time of submission and provide appropriate references to related manuscripts, preprints, conference papers, or earlier versions of the work.
If plagiarism or unethical publishing behaviour is identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected immediately. If misconduct is discovered after publication, JMTC reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or formal retractions in accordance with internationally recognised publication ethics standards and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
The journal may also notify the authors’ affiliated institutions, funding bodies, or relevant academic authorities in cases involving serious ethical misconduct.
By submitting a manuscript to JMTC, authors confirm that their work is original, ethically prepared, and compliant with the journal’s publication ethics and plagiarism policies.
