Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automated Tools Policy

JRVCS recognizes the evolving role of artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) in academic research and writing. The following policy governs the use of such tools in submissions to this journal.

Permitted Use

AI-assisted tools may be used for language editing, grammar correction, and improving the readability of manuscripts, provided that the scientific content, data interpretation, and intellectual conclusions are entirely the work of the human authors.

Prohibited Use

• AI tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors of any submission. Authorship requires accountability, which AI systems cannot assume.
• AI tools may not be used to generate substantive scientific content, fabricate data, or produce results presented as original research.

Disclosure Requirement

Authors must disclose the use of any AI or automated writing assistance in the Methods or Acknowledgements section of their manuscript. Undisclosed use of AI tools that materially affects the scientific content of a submission is considered a breach of publication ethics.

This policy is consistent with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and will be updated as the landscape of AI in research evolves.
