Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine & Dentistry Journal (PAMD-J)


1. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format via the journal’s online submission system. Submissions must represent original work that is not under consideration elsewhere and has not been previously published.


2. General Formatting

  • Page Size: A4 with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point

  • Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout, including references and figure legends

  • Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively, beginning with the title page

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English


3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

a. Title Page

  • Full manuscript title (concise and informative; avoid abbreviations)

  • Author names and affiliations (with superscripts for multiple affiliations)

  • Full postal addresses and email addresses of all authors

  • Designation of the corresponding author, including full contact details

  • Running title (max. 50 characters)

b. Abstract

  • A structured summary highlighting the objective, methods, results, and conclusion

  • Avoid citations, abbreviations, or symbols

  • Word count depends on article type (see Section 5)

c. Keywords

  • 3–6 keywords listed immediately after the abstract

  • Use British spelling and avoid broad or plural terms

d. Main Text

Organize into clearly labeled sections as appropriate:

  • Introduction

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

e. Acknowledgments

  • Mention any funding sources, institutional support, or individual contributions not qualifying for authorship

f. References

  • Follow APA 7th edition style

  • Include DOIs for all available references

  • Ensure consistency between in-text citations and reference list

g. Tables and Figures

  • Each table and figure should appear on a separate page at the end of the manuscript

  • Include concise titles and legends

  • Indicate approximate placement in the main text (e.g., [Insert Figure 1 here])

5. Graphical Abstract (Optional)

Authors are encouraged to submit a graphical abstract that visually summarizes the article.

  • Format: PNG, JPEG, or TIFF

  • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI

  • Upload as a separate file during submission


6. Ethical Considerations

  • All research involving human participants must include an ethics committee approval statement and confirmation of informed consent

  • Animal studies must comply with institutional and national ethical standards

  • Clinical trials must be registered in an approved registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov)


7. Statistical and Reporting Standards

  • Clearly describe statistical methods and software used

  • Report exact p-values and confidence intervals

  • Adhere to international reporting guidelines (e.g., CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE) where applicable


8. Scientific Terminology and Units

  • Use standard scientific terminology throughout

  • Define all abbreviations at first use

  • Use SI units for all measurements and provide non-SI equivalents if necessary


9. Appendices and Supplementary Material

  • Label multiple appendices as Appendix A, B, etc.

  • Tables and figures in appendices should follow a separate numbering system (e.g., Table A.1, Fig. B.2)

  • Submit supplementary files separately, clearly labeled


10. Footnotes

  • Use footnotes only when necessary

  • Number footnotes consecutively in the manuscript

  • Do not include footnotes in the reference list


11. Submission Checklist

Before submitting, please ensure:

  • The manuscript follows the required structure and formatting

  • All authors are listed correctly with up-to-date contact details

  • Ethical approval and consent statements are included

  • References follow APA 7th edition and include DOIs where available

  • Tables and figures are correctly labeled and submitted

  • A conflict of interest statement (if applicable) is included
