Peer Review Process

The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine & Dentistry Journal (PAMD-J) follows a double-blind peer review system to ensure fairness, objectivity, and scientific rigor. Neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other’s identities throughout the review process.


1. Initial Editorial Screening

  • All submissions are first reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors.

  • Manuscripts are evaluated for originality, relevance to pediatrics and dentistry, adherence to author guidelines, and ethical compliance.

  • Submissions failing to meet basic requirements may be desk rejected without external review.


2. External Peer Review

  • Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers in pediatric/adolescent medicine or dentistry.

  • Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

    • Originality & Significance

    • Scientific Rigor & Methodology

    • Clarity & Quality of Reporting

    • Ethical Standards (IRB approval, parental consent/child assent where applicable)

    • Relevance & Clinical Impact


3. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Provide constructive, evidence-based, and unbiased feedback.

  • Highlight strengths and weaknesses, offering suggestions for improvement.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscript content.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest prior to reviewing.


4. Review Outcomes

Based on reviewer evaluations, the editorial decision will be one of the following:

  • Accept – Publishable in current form.

  • Minor Revisions – Requires small changes before acceptance.

  • Major Revisions – Requires substantial modifications and possible re-review.

  • Reject – Not suitable for publication in PAMD-J.


5. Editorial Decision

  • Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account reviewer recommendations and the overall contribution of the manuscript.

  • In case of conflicting reviews, an additional reviewer may be invited.


6. Post-Acceptance

  • Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading.

  • Articles are published online with a DOI assignment to ensure perman
