The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine & Dentistry Journal (PAMD-J) publishes peer-reviewed, high-quality, and original research in all areas of pediatric and adolescent healthcare, including clinical medicine, dentistry, public health, and translational sciences. These writing rules ensure that manuscripts comply with international publishing standardsand the journal’s editorial policies.


1. General Formatting

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

  • Page Layout: A4 size, 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins.

  • Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, 12-point, double-spaced, justified alignment.

  • Page Numbering: Pages must be numbered consecutively, starting with the title page.


2. Manuscript Structure

A. Title Page

  • Full title (concise and specific).

  • Author names, institutional affiliations, and country.

  • Corresponding author details (email, ORCID if available).

  • Running title: maximum of 50 characters.

B. Abstract

  • Word limit: 250 words (150 for short reports).

  • Structured format: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

  • Avoid citations or uncommon abbreviations.

C. Keywords

  • Provide 3–6 keywords (MeSH terms recommended).

D. Main Text

  • Introduction – State background, problem, and study objectives.

  • Methods – Describe study design, participants, interventions, instruments, and statistical analysis. For clinical trials and pediatric research, include ethics approval and consent/assent.

  • Results – Present findings clearly, supported by tables and figures.

  • Discussion – Interpret results, compare with existing literature, and note implications for pediatric/adolescent health.

  • Conclusion – Provide a concise summary of main findings and relevance.

E. Acknowledgments – Recognize non-author contributors.
F. Funding Sources – Clearly state funding details and grant numbers.
G. References – APA 7th Edition; include DOIs where available.
H. Tables & Figures – Place at the end of the manuscript; each must be cited in the text with a descriptive caption. Figures should be high-resolution (≥300 dpi).


3. Types of Papers

  • Original Research Articles – 3,000 words, 250-word abstract, up to 40 references.

  • Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses – 3,500 words, 300-word abstract, up to 50 references (follow PRISMA).

  • Narrative Reviews – 3,500 words, 300-word abstract, up to 50 references.

  • Case Reports / Short Communications – 1,000 words, 150-word abstract, up to 15 references, max 3 tables/figures.

  • Clinical Guidelines / Consensus Statements – 3,500 words, 300-word abstract, up to 50 references.

  • Technical Notes – 750 words, up to 10 references, max 4 tables/figures.

  • Letters to the Editor – 500 words, up to 5 references, max 2 tables/figures.


4. Ethical Standards

  • Research involving children or adolescents must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and local/national ethics regulations.

  • IRB/Ethics Committee approval is mandatory.

  • Parental/guardian informed consent and child assent (when applicable) must be obtained.

  • Clinical trials must be registered in a recognized registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov).


5. Statistical & Reporting Standards

  • Clearly describe statistical analyses (p-values, CI, effect sizes).

  • For clinical trials: follow CONSORT guidelines.

  • For systematic reviews: follow PRISMA.

  • For case reports: follow CARE guidelines.


6. Language & Style

  • Manuscripts must be in clear, professional English (British English preferred).

  • Avoid jargon; define abbreviations at first mention.

  • Maintain clarity for both medical and dental audiences.


7. Submission Checklist

Before submission, ensure that:

  • Manuscript complies with formatting and word limits.

  • Abstract and keywords meet requirements.

  • References are properly formatted (APA 7th Edition).

  • Tables/figures are labeled, cited, and high resolution.

  • Ethical approval and consent/assent statements are included.
