Plagiarism Policy

The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine & Dentistry Journal (PAMD-J)

The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine & Dentistry Journal (PAMD-J) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Authors must ensure that all submissions are original, unpublished work and not under consideration elsewhere.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct plagiarism – Copying text, figures, or data without appropriate citation.

  • Mosaic plagiarism – Borrowing phrases, ideas, or sentence structures from other sources without acknowledgment.

  • Self-plagiarism – Reusing one’s own previously published work without proper citation or disclosure.

  • Data or image manipulation – Fabricating, falsifying, or misrepresenting data, images, or clinical results.

2. Screening

  • All manuscripts submitted to PAMD-J are screened with advanced plagiarism detection software.

  • The editorial team reviews similarity reports to distinguish acceptable overlap (e.g., methods, standard terminology) from unethical duplication.

3. Consequences

  • Minor overlap: Authors will be asked to revise with correct citations.

  • Significant plagiarism or duplication: Immediate rejection of the manuscript.

  • Post-publication discovery: May result in a correction, expression of concern, or full retraction, following COPE guidelines.

4. Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must properly cite and attribute all sources of ideas, text, figures, and data.

  • Any use of AI-assisted writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) must be clearly disclosed in the Methods section. AI tools cannot be credited as authors.

  • Authors must keep raw data and be prepared to provide it to the editorial office if requested.

5. Editorial & Reviewer Role

  • Editors and reviewers are encouraged to report suspected plagiarism during evaluation.

  • Allegations of misconduct will be investigated fairly and confidentially in accordance with COPE best practices.

6. Compliance Statement

By submitting to PAMD-J, authors confirm that their work:

  • Is original and free of plagiarism.

  • Has not been previously published and is not under review elsewhere.

  • Fully complies with this plagiarism policy.
