Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • The text is double-spaced, uses a 12-point Times New Roman font, and employs italics rather than underlining (except for URLs).
  • All tables and figures are placed at the end of the manuscript, one per page, with clear titles and legends. Their approximate placement is indicated within the main text (e.g., [Insert Table 1 here]).
  • The manuscript adheres to the formatting, structure, and referencing style (APA 7th edition) as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript includes all required sections, including title page, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and any applicable declarations.
  • Ethical approval and informed consent statements are included where applicable.
  • A conflict of interest declaration is included.
  • Funding sources are disclosed where applicable.

Author Guidelines

 

1. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s official online submission system in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

Submissions must be:

  • Original and unpublished

  • Not under consideration elsewhere

  • Aligned with the aims and scope of IJCHMD


2. General Formatting

  • Page Size: A4, with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point

  • Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout (including references and figure legends)

  • Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively, starting from the title page

  • Language: Clear, professional academic English


3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must be arranged in the following order:

a. Title Page

  • Full manuscript title (concise and informative; avoid abbreviations)

  • Full names and institutional affiliations of all authors

  • Email addresses of all authors

  • Corresponding author with complete contact details

  • Running title (maximum 50 characters)


b. Abstract

  • Structured summary: Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion

  • Do not include references, symbols, or abbreviations

  • Abstract length depends on article type


c. Keywords

  • 3–6 keywords placed immediately below the abstract

  • Use standardized indexing terms where applicable

  • Avoid general or repetitive terms


d. Main Text

Organize the manuscript into:

  • Introduction

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion


e. Acknowledgments

  • Include contributors, institutions, or funding sources not meeting authorship criteria


f. References

  • Follow APA 7th edition

  • Include DOIs or permanent URLs where available

  • Ensure all citations match the reference list


g. Tables and Figures

  • Place at the end of the manuscript (one per page)

  • Provide clear titles and legends

  • Indicate placement within text (e.g., [Insert Table 1 here])

5. Graphical Abstract (Optional)

Authors are encouraged to submit a graphical abstract that visually summarizes the key findings of the manuscript.

  • File Formats: PNG, JPEG, or TIFF

  • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI

  • Submission: The graphical abstract must be uploaded as a separate file during the submission process and also embedded within the main manuscript document (typically after the abstract or at the end of the manuscript)


6. Ethical Considerations

  • Human studies must include ethical approval and informed consent

  • Animal studies must follow institutional and national ethical standards

  • Clinical trials must include a registration number (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov)

  • Authors must adhere to COPE and ICMJE guidelines


7. Statistical and Reporting Standards

  • Clearly describe statistical methods and software used

  • Report exact p-values and confidence intervals

  • Follow reporting guidelines:

    • CONSORT

    • PRISMA

    • STROBE


8. Scientific Language and Units

  • Use standard scientific terminology

  • Define abbreviations at first mention

  • Use SI units (with non-SI equivalents where necessary)


9. Appendices and Supplementary Files

  • Label appendices (Appendix A, B, etc.)

  • Label tables/figures separately (e.g., Table A.1)

  • Upload supplementary files separately


10. Footnotes

  • Use sparingly

  • Number consecutively

  • Do not include in references


11. Submission Checklist

Before submission, ensure:

  • Manuscript follows required structure and formatting

  • Author details are accurate

  • Ethics and funding statements are included

  • References follow APA 7th with DOIs

  • Tables and figures are properly labeled

  • Conflict of interest statement is included
