Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine & Dentistry (IJCHMD)


1. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.


2. General Formatting

  • Page Size: A4, with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point

  • Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout, including references and figure legends

  • Page Numbers: All pages must be numbered consecutively, starting with the title page

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English


3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

a. Title Page

  • Full title of the manuscript (concise and informative; avoid abbreviations or symbols)

  • Full names and affiliations of all authors

  • Email addresses of all authors

  • Designate the corresponding author with complete contact details

  • Running title (maximum 50 characters)

b. Abstract

  • A structured, standalone summary of the study’s objective, methods, results, and conclusion

  • Do not include references, symbols, or abbreviations

  • Abstract length depends on article type (see Section 5)

c. Keywords

  • 3–6 keywords placed immediately below the abstract

  • Use British spelling; avoid general, plural, or compound terms

d. Main Text

Organize the main body into clear sections as applicable:

  • Introduction

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

e. Acknowledgments

  • Mention any individuals, organizations, or funding sources that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria

f. References

  • Follow APA 7th edition referencing style

  • Include DOIs or permanent URLs where available

  • Ensure all in-text citations match the reference list

g. Tables and Figures

  • Place all tables and figures at the end of the manuscript, one per page

  • Provide clear titles and legends

  • Indicate approximate placement within the main text (e.g., [Insert Table 1 here])

5. Graphical Abstract (Optional)

Authors are encouraged to submit a graphical abstract that visually summarizes the article's main findings.

  • File format: PNG, JPEG, or TIFF

  • Resolution: 300 DPI minimum

  • Upload as a separate file during submission


6. Ethical Considerations

  • All research involving human participants must include a statement of ethical approval and informed consent

  • Animal studies must follow institutional and national ethical standards

  • Clinical trials must include a trial registration number (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov)


7. Statistical and Reporting Standards

  • Clearly describe statistical methods used, including software

  • Report exact p-values and confidence intervals

  • Follow recognized reporting guidelines (e.g., CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE)


8. Scientific Language and Units

  • Use standard scientific terminology throughout

  • Define all abbreviations at first mention

  • Use International System of Units (SI) and provide non-SI equivalents when needed


9. Appendices and Supplementary Files

  • Label appendices as Appendix A, B, etc.

  • Tables and figures in appendices should be labeled separately (e.g., Table A.1, Fig. B.1)

  • Supplementary data may be uploaded as separate files


10. Footnotes

  • Use sparingly

  • Number footnotes consecutively

  • Do not include footnotes in the reference list


11. Submission Checklist

Before submitting, please ensure:

  • The manuscript follows the required formatting and structure

  • Author names, affiliations, and contact details are accurate

  • Statements on ethics and funding are included

  • References are in APA 7th edition with DOIs where available

  • Figures and tables are properly labeled and submitted

  • A conflict of interest declaration is included (if applicable)
