Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine, & Dentistry adheres to a set of rigorous publication policies to ensure the integrity, quality, and accessibility of the research we publish. These policies are designed to maintain high standards of scientific excellence and to support the dissemination of impactful research.

Peer Review Policy

Our journal operates a rigorous peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality research. We employ a single-anonymized review process, meaning that reviewers know the identity of the authors, but authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. This process helps maintain objectivity and reduce potential biases.

Conflict of Interest Policy

All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Examples include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding. If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should state this explicitly: "Conflicts of interest: none."

Data Sharing Policy

We encourage authors to share data that supports their research findings by depositing it in a public repository. Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript, outlining where the data can be accessed. If data cannot be shared, authors must provide a reason.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen submissions for originality. Manuscripts with significant plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be rejected. Authors are expected to cite sources appropriately and ensure that their work is original.

Duplicate Submission Policy

Manuscripts submitted to The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine, & Dentistry must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must confirm this at the time of submission.

Ethical Approval Policy

For research involving human subjects, authors must provide a statement confirming that the research has been conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and has been approved by an appropriate ethics committee. The manuscript should include a statement about informed consent from participants.

Authorship Policy

All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the work reported. This includes the conception, design, execution, and interpretation of the reported study. All authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Retraction Policy

The journal will retract articles if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct or honest error. Retractions will be issued in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Corrections Policy

If errors are discovered in a published article that do not warrant retraction but could affect the interpretation of the data or the conclusions, a correction will be published. Authors should contact the editorial office as soon as they become aware of such issues.

Copyright and Licensing Policy

Upon acceptance, authors will be asked to complete a Journal Publishing Agreement. Authors can choose to publish their articles under a standard copyright transfer agreement or a Creative Commons license for open access articles. The choice of license will determine the terms of reuse and distribution.

Open Access Policy

The journal offers both subscription-based and open access publishing options. Authors who choose open access will pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) and their articles will be freely available to the public. Details of the APC and open access options are available on the journal's website.

Advertising Policy

The journal may accept advertising, which must be clearly distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisers do not influence editorial decisions or content. All advertisements must comply with relevant laws and ethical standards.

Misconduct Policy

The journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling allegations of misconduct. This includes plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and other forms of unethical behavior. Authors found guilty of misconduct may face sanctions, including retraction of published articles and notification of their institution.

Peer Review Policy

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine, & Dentistry operates a rigorous peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality research. Our peer review policy is designed to be transparent, efficient, and fair, supporting the integrity of the scientific record.

Single-Anonymized Review Process

We employ a single-anonymized review process, meaning that reviewers know the identity of the authors, but authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. This process helps maintain objectivity and reduce potential biases.

Initial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript is initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor for its suitability and relevance to the journal's scope. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards or are outside the scope are rejected without external review.

External Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and experience in the relevant field. They are asked to evaluate the manuscript for its originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are responsible for providing:

A thorough, constructive, and unbiased critique of the manuscript.
Suggestions for improvements, if necessary.
A recommendation regarding the manuscript's suitability for publication.
Review Outcomes

Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor will make a decision on the manuscript, which can be one of the following:

Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication with minor or no revisions.
Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes before it can be accepted.
Major Revisions: The manuscript needs significant changes, and the revised version will undergo another round of review.
Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.
Author Revisions

Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript based on the reviewers' comments. The revised manuscript should be resubmitted within the specified timeframe. The revision will be reviewed to ensure that the required changes have been made satisfactorily.

Final Decision

The final decision on the manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers' recommendations and the authors' responses to the reviewers' comments. The decision will be communicated to the authors along with the reviewers' feedback.

Appeals

Authors who believe that their manuscript was unfairly rejected can appeal the decision. Appeals must be submitted in writing, with a detailed explanation of the grounds for the appeal. The Editor-in-Chief will review the appeal and may seek additional opinions before making a final decision.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts and review processes are treated as confidential. Reviewers and editors are required to keep the content and details of the review process confidential.
