About the Journal

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine & Dentistry (IJCHMD) is a fully digital, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality, interdisciplinary research across the fields of health sciences, clinical medicine, dentistry, and allied healthcare disciplines. With a strong emphasis on innovation, translational research, scientific integrity, and global academic collaboration, IJCHMD serves as an international platform for advancing integrated approaches to healthcare knowledge, clinical practice, and evidence-based research.

Founded by Hala Publishing Group in Doha, Qatar, with its headquarters located in Tornado Tower, West Bay, the journal was established to bridge the traditional divide between medical and dental sciences through interdisciplinary scholarship and clinically meaningful scientific discourse. Its editorial leadership comprises a diverse and internationally recognized board of researchers, clinicians, and academic experts, while all submissions undergo a rigorous double-anonymous peer-review process to ensure methodological rigor, ethical compliance, originality, and academic excellence.

IJCHMD operates in full alignment with internationally recognized publishing and ethical standards, adhering to the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA). This commitment ensures transparency, accountability, integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing across all stages of the editorial and publication process.

With a robust peer-review framework and contributions from experts across diverse specialties, the journal is committed to publishing impactful, scientifically rigorous, and clinically relevant research that contributes meaningfully to both academic and healthcare communities worldwide. Through its interdisciplinary focus, IJCHMD aims to foster scholarly collaboration, support translational innovation, and promote research that addresses emerging global healthcare challenges.

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening editorial quality, publication consistency, manuscript selectivity, and long-term academic development, IJCHMD is currently transitioning from a triannual publication structure to a refined biannual publication model. Volume 2 serves as the journal’s transitional publication year, with Volume 2, Issue 1 published in January 2026 and Volume 2, Issue 2 scheduled for publication in December 2026. Beginning from Volume 3 onward, the journal will officially publish two issues annually in June and December.

IJCHMD additionally follows an online-first publication model, whereby accepted manuscripts may be published online ahead of the official issue release date following successful completion of peer review, editorial processing, proofreading, and production workflows. Articles subsequently remain formally assigned to their respective scheduled issue and volume upon final issue compilation.

Each issue is expected to include a minimum of five peer-reviewed scholarly articles, subject to editorial quality standards and successful completion of the peer-review process.

As a fully open-access publication, IJCHMD is committed to equitable knowledge dissemination by providing permanent, unrestricted, and barrier-free access to all published content. The journal welcomes original research articles, clinical investigations, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, evidence syntheses, policy analyses, educational research, and expert commentary that contribute meaningfully to evidence-based healthcare and global scientific discourse.

The inaugural volume received over 40 submissions from five continents, of which 15 manuscripts were accepted following rigorous peer review, reflecting the journal’s emerging reputation for scientific quality, editorial selectivity, and international relevance.

IJCHMD is strategically advancing toward inclusion in leading scholarly indexing and abstracting databases, including Scopus, DOAJ, PubMed Central, and Web of Science. As the journal continues to grow internationally, its core mission remains centered on scholarly rigor, editorial transparency, interdisciplinary impact, and the advancement of high-quality open-access healthcare research that contributes to shaping the future of global health and clinical innovation.

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine, & Dentistry proudly presents Volume 2, Issue 1, marking one year of scholarly foundation since the launch of its inaugural volume—a milestone that reflects growth, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

This issue stands not merely as a continuation, but as a commemoration of a year defined by vision transformed into substance. What began as an ambitious scholarly endeavor in August 2024 has, within a single year, evolved into a credible international platform grounded in rigor, integrity, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The symbolism of the Carved Stone Tablet featured on this issue’s cover embodies this moment. Stone represents permanence, accountability, and the responsibility of preserving knowledge beyond fleeting trends. As inscriptions endure through time, so too should research that is methodologically sound, clinically relevant, and globally impactful. This imagery reflects our belief that meaningful science is not written for the moment—but carved for the future.

Over the past year, the journal has remained guided by a singular mission: to empower healthcare professionals, researchers, and academics through an accessible, non-commercial platform dedicated to advancing health, medicine, and dentistry. Volume 2, Issue 1 reaffirms this mission by bridging research with clinical practice and encouraging innovation that translates into meaningful patient outcomes.

Within these pages, readers will encounter a carefully curated body of work addressing contemporary challenges and emerging frontiers across medical, dental, and health sciences. The contributions span key domains including modifiable behavioral determinants of health, early-onset cardiovascular risk linked to lifestyle factors, persistent infectious disease challenges despite established interventions, genetic polymorphisms influencing disease susceptibility, and the oral and periodontal implications of chronic substance exposure. Collectively, these domains reflect the journal’s commitment to interdisciplinary, clinically relevant research with global health impact.

In recognition of scholarly excellence, this anniversary issue features five distinguished articles selected for their originality, methodological rigor, clinical relevance, and potential global impact. These contributions exemplify the intellectual standard the journal seeks to uphold as it enters its second year.

The journal’s foundation, envisioned by Prof. Mukhtar Al-Hashimi, was rooted in the belief that impactful research deserves a platform defined by discipline, inclusivity, and uncompromising quality. The achievements of the past year stand as evidence that vision, when paired with structure and perseverance, can mature into an enduring academic institution.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Editorial Board, reviewers, authors, and the continued support of Dr. Hala Medical Group – Bahrain, whose guidance and commitment have been instrumental throughout this first year. Their collective efforts reaffirm that meaningful progress in science is always the result of collaboration and shared purpose.

As we reflect on this one year of scholarly foundation, we invite the global healthcare community to engage deeply with the knowledge presented herein. May this issue serve as both a milestone and a marker—etched not in passing words, but in enduring contribution.

“Knowledge elevates the human beyond ignorance and grants permanence through its legacy.”
