Peer Review Policy & Process

Peer-Review Policy

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine & Dentistry (IJCHMD) employs a double-anonymous peer-review process to ensure objectivity, fairness, and academic rigor. In this model, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process, minimizing bias and maintaining the integrity of scholarly communication.

Peer-Review Process

The editorial and peer-review process follows a structured workflow:

1. Submission

Manuscripts are submitted via the journal’s online system and assigned a unique manuscript ID.

2. Editorial Screening

The editorial office evaluates:

  • Scope alignment

  • Compliance with Author Guidelines

  • Formatting and overall quality

Submissions that do not meet these criteria may be declined without external review.

3. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality and ethical compliance.

4. Assignment to Handling Editor

A qualified editor with subject-matter expertise is assigned to oversee the review process.

5. Reviewer Selection

A minimum of two independent reviewers are invited based on expertise, academic background, and availability.

6. Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and novelty

  • Methodological rigor

  • Ethical compliance

  • Clarity and structure

  • Scientific contribution

Constructive feedback is provided to support manuscript improvement.

Typical review timeline: 1–2 weeks

Editorial Decisions

In accordance with the journal’s editorial system, the handling editor will issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission

  • Revisions Required

  • Resubmit for Review

  • Resubmit Elsewhere

  • Decline Submission

(“See Comments” may accompany decisions to provide additional guidance.)

Revision and Final Decision Process

  • Authors revise manuscripts in response to reviewer and editor comments

  • Revised submissions may undergo further peer review

  • Authors must provide a point-by-point response to reviewer feedback

The handling editor makes the final decision, after which accepted manuscripts proceed to:

  • Copyediting

  • Typesetting

  • Proofreading

  • Publication

Reviewer Ethics

  • Confidentiality – All materials are treated as strictly confidential

  • Objectivity – Reviews must be constructive and unbiased

  • Conflict of Interest – Must be disclosed

  • Timeliness – Reviews expected within 1–2 weeks

Reviewer Recognition

IJCHMD recognizes the critical role of peer reviewers:

  • Annual recognition of outstanding reviewers

  • Opportunities for consistent reviewers to join the Editorial Board
