Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine, & Dentistry (IJCHMD) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. To safeguard the originality of scholarly contributions, all manuscripts submitted to IJCHMD must be the authors’ own work and free from plagiarism in any form.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the appropriation of another person’s ideas, words, or findings without proper acknowledgment, presenting them as one’s own. It includes but is not limited to:

  • Direct Plagiarism – Verbatim copying of text from another source without citation.

  • Self-Plagiarism – Republishing substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without acknowledgment.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism – Paraphrasing or borrowing phrases from a source without quotation or attribution, while retaining its structure or meaning.

  • Accidental Plagiarism – Failure to cite sources properly due to oversight, negligence, or lack of understanding.

Plagiarism Detection

  • Screening: All submissions undergo similarity checks using advanced plagiarism detection software.

  • Assessment: Manuscripts flagged for significant overlap are reviewed by the editorial office for context and extent.

  • Author Communication: Authors may be asked to clarify or revise manuscripts where overlap is identified.

Consequences of Plagiarism

  • Minor Overlaps: Authors will be asked to revise the manuscript to correct citation or phrasing issues.

  • Significant Plagiarism: Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed material will be rejected outright.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Redundant or duplicate submissions without acknowledgment will be declined.

  • Post-Publication Plagiarism: If plagiarism is confirmed in a published article, it will be retracted immediately, and a retraction notice will be issued. Authors responsible may face a permanent ban from future submissions.

Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all submissions are original works.

  • Provide proper attribution to all sources, including prior publications by the same authors.

  • Confirm that all co-authors are aware of and approve the final manuscript.

  • Adhere to international ethical publishing standards in all aspects of research and reporting.

Reporting Plagiarism

Suspected plagiarism in submitted or published manuscripts should be reported to the editorial office. All allegations will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate corrective action will be taken in line with COPE guidelines.
