Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Comprehensive Health, Medicine, & Dentistry upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing practices. We are committed to ensuring that all manuscripts submitted for publication are original works and free from plagiarism.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the act of using another person's words, ideas, or findings without appropriate acknowledgment, thereby presenting them as one's own. This includes, but is not limited to:

Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from another source without proper citation.
Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial parts of one's own published work without proper citation or acknowledgment.
Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases from a source without using quotation marks or finding synonyms for the author's language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original.
Accidental Plagiarism: Unintentional failure to cite sources properly due to lack of knowledge or misunderstanding of proper citation practices.
Plagiarism Detection

Submission Screening:
All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism screening using specialized software tools to detect similarities with existing published works.
Manuscripts found to have significant similarities with other published works will be flagged for further review.
Editorial Review:
The editorial team will review flagged manuscripts to assess the extent and context of the similarities.
Authors may be asked to provide explanations or clarifications regarding the similarities identified.

Consequences of Plagiarism

Minor Overlaps:
If minor overlaps or similarities are identified (e.g., common phrases or terms), the authors will be requested to revise the manuscript to address these issues.
Significant Plagiarism:
Manuscripts with significant levels of plagiarism (e.g., large portions of text copied without proper citation) will be rejected outright.
Authors may be prohibited from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.
Self-Plagiarism:
Manuscripts containing substantial portions of the author's previously published work without proper citation will be rejected.
Authors may be asked to provide substantial revisions or withdraw the manuscript.
Retraction:
If plagiarism is detected in a published paper, the paper will be retracted immediately.
A retraction notice will be published in the journal, detailing the reasons for the retraction and identifying the plagiarized work.
Authors involved in plagiarism will be banned from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.
Author Responsibilities

Original Work: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite all sources of information, ideas, and data.
Proper Attribution: Authors must provide appropriate attribution to all sources, including their own previously published work.
Collaboration: Authors must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript and its contents before submission.
Ethical Standards: Authors must adhere to ethical standards in research and publication, including avoiding plagiarism and ensuring the integrity of their work.

Reporting Plagiarism

If any reader, reviewer, or editor suspects plagiarism in a submitted or published manuscript, they are encouraged to report it to the editorial office. The journal will investigate all allegations of plagiarism thoroughly and take appropriate action based on the findings.
